Welcome

"Monticule" is a French term referring to a large hill or a small mountain. It is the pinnacle of the respective place. Figuratively, it reflects our goal: always seeking to be the best that we can be, dedicated to quality.

Queen of the Creek, winner at Keeneland

The 2007 foal out of Monticule mare, Miasma, won at Keeneland on April 8th.  The Theatrical (Ire) filly was offered for sale by Monticule at the 2008 Keeneland September Yearling sale and was purchased by Vin Cox, agent for Patinack Farm.  Making her 3rd start Queen of the Creek took over once in the stretch and drew off under steady urging winning by 4 3/4.

Monticule sends congratulations to Patinack Farm and trainer Thomas Proctor.

Recently, Monticule has been adding to its broodmare band.  Several individuals came to the farm from Keenland's November and January sales.   Check our broodmare page for details on our new additions.

The foaling season is  in full swing.  Recent foalings include an Any Given Saturday colt for Autumn Moon, a Pleasant Tap filly for Big News, a Lion Heart filly for Scouting Party and a Latent Heat colt for Cambridge Belle.

Foaling has begun!  Senza Unica gave birth to a healthy Any Given Saturday colt this week and Seeking the Jewel had her Flower Alley filly.  We will try to get photos up in within the next week.
