Monticule currently encompasses 550 acres of rolling and expansive land in Lexington, Kentucky. The farm lies along Harp Innis Pike in Fayette County between Paris Pike and Greenwich Pike.
The farm's design, created with the assistance and insight of Morgan Wheelock, landscape architect, is a magical experience of land and structure. When driving along the roads of the farm, around the curves and amid the crests and dips, the paddocks, you see barns, trees, and fields disappear and reappear in a graceful and elegant pattern.
New yearling and broodmare barns have been a necessary addition
considering our recent growth. The barns were designed in the style of
similar structures fro
m the 1920s and 1930s.
However, for the health and safety of the tenants, the barns were built
using modern specifications to optimize ventilation and drainage as
well as the availability of natural light and open space. Each barn has
