16% Stakes Winners for Monticule Mares
Recently, statistics reported in the November 17th issue of The Blood-Horse’s MarketWatch have highlighted Monticule’s accomplishments in the racing and sales arenas. The article, “Savvy Buyers Reap Benefits”, looked at the racing and sales records of the progeny of mares purchased by 277 buyers during the period 2000-2003. Out of those 277 buyers, mares purchased by Monticule produced the highest percentage of stakes winners (16.1%). Beyond that, Monticule is in the top 2% of buyers in terms of their broodmares’ ability to produce graded stakes winners.
In terms of performance at the
sales, the article reported that Monticule sold the yearling progeny of these
mares for the highest average sale price of any North American purchaser
($657,421). To underscore our
achievement in the sales ring we have sold the highest priced yearlings ever
for Runaway Groom ($385,000) and
